Designer House Measuring Day

     January 10th is the day the Designers get their first serious look at the space they will be working on up until opening day April 26th. I am armed with my measuring tape, chalk, brown paper, tablet and pencil. My space is small, about 10 X 13, but mighty! The walls seem to be in good shape, as well as the hardwood floors. Now what? Where will I put the bed? Where are the electrical outlets? What will be the flow of the room?
     I like the bed to face you when you walk into a room. I have come up with a great idea for a headboard. Since the theme of my room is a boy and his dog...the headboard will be shaped like a dog house! The fabric for the bedding is an adorable print with dogs in sweaters. The colors of the room will be khaki, olive green, brown and touches of orange.
     I have one deep set window in the room. I think a window seat cushion would be terrific. I will add a couple of throw pillows, one shaped like a dog bone! I will add a small valance in a coordinating fabric, not to cover too much of the window. A bureau, bookshelf, nightstand, some lamps and accessories will come next. I will keep you posted!
